Clinical Approach
A Simultaneous and Integrative Approach to Trauma & Substance Abuse Treatment
Because trauma and substance abuse are heavily intertwined, the Fullbrook Center aims to treat them simultaneously. Through the work of a 12-Step foundation, as well as a multitude of evidenced-based therapeutic modalities, Fullbrook Center uses an integrative approach to assist women in repairing their lives.
Our clinical goal is to reinforce the mastery of the 12 steps concepts and principles via side-by-side therapeutic interventions. The practice of integration of these principles and therapy and coping skills in daily life is a cornerstone of our client’s treatment.
This approach allows women to learn how trauma and substance abuse have shown up in their lives and created patterns of behavior. We then encourage our clients to lean into these discomforts and begin finding new, healthy ways of coping with their emotions and pain.
Our focus is to create an environment in which women can heal from the wounds of trauma and substance abuse, while finding the tools to live a life of excellence beyond sobriety.
Upon discharge, our clients understand that they are able to remain sober by continuing to practice the spiritual principles of the 12 Step work, reinforced by the trauma-informed therapy and how these healthy practices promote long-term sobriety via happiness and peace in daily life.
Women Empowering Women
Gender-specific drug rehabs are proven models for people who struggle with drug addiction and alcoholism. At our women-only facility, our goal is to empower women. We want to break the societal norm that women have a hard time getting along with one another. We work to remove this stigma through our curriculum and therapeutic program.
Our clinical approach is intentionally designed to assist women in reconnecting with other women. Not only does our direct-care staff consist of only women; our program also sets forth the importance of clients helping other clients. Women leave Fullbrook with a strong bond and a feeling of healthy connection.
Exclusive Approach at The Fullbrook Center
Our clinical goal is to reinforce the mastery of the 12 step concepts and principles with therapeutic interventions, using evidence-based and modern treatment modalities tailored to each individual client.
The practice of integrating these principles and therapy skills in daily life is a cornerstone of our client’s treatment. The integration work is continued with the introduction of personal trauma work on an individual basis.
